About the Journal

The Industry Professor Association (INDPA) is a professional body established to recognise, connect, and empower practitioners who possess deep industry expertise and are actively engaged in teaching, mentoring, or developing others within their sector. INDPA addresses the growing demand for practice-based knowledge transfer by formally recognising individuals as Industry Professors—experienced professionals who bridge the gap between real-world expertise and structured education or training.

Founded on the principle that contemporary learning requires input from those embedded in current industry practice, INDPA offers a platform where members can contribute to and access high-quality, industry-aligned educational content. Members engage in authoring, validating, and delivering learning experiences across vocational education, higher education, and workforce training sectors.

Through a structured recognition pathway, INDPA facilitates professional validation, encourages publication of applied knowledge, and fosters community among cross-sector experts. The association champions a flexible, tech-enabled model of knowledge exchange—where learning is dynamic, learner-led, and driven by current industry demands.

INDPA also serves as an advocate for industry-to-education collaboration, positioning Industry Professors as key agents in addressing skills gaps, mentoring emerging professionals, and contributing to workforce capability through micro-credentials, advisory, and on-demand teaching.

Key focus areas include:
Industry-led knowledge design, Recognition of professional learning, Work-integrated education, Micro-credential delivery, Technology-supported instruction, and Professional communities of practice.
